Balletistan Intensive Summer Workshop

We are planning a summer intensive ballet workshop on June 22-27, 2020 in Kyiv, Ukraine. Our classical classes will be given by exceptional répétiteurs and principal dancers from the National Opera of Ukraine. Contemporary dance classes will be taught by the best choreographers and dancers in Ukraine.

First of all, our students will receive a solid foundation in ballet technique by our outstanding teachers representing the strong tradition of Ukrainian ballet. Our classes will provide a strong connection between classical and contemporary dances and prepare the students to launch a successful career in the modern ballet world.
Each day will start with a ballet technique class in the morning followed by pointe or pre-pointe work for the classical repertoire, and finally contemporary dance class.

Our Venue: La Prima Ballet School

La Prima ballet school was founded in 2015 by the international ballet star, Principal dancer at the National Opera of Ukraine, Viktor Ishchuk with the support of Denis Matvienko Foundation.

Since 2018, La Prima is located in the international center of culture and arts “October Palace” and it is home to more than 100 students from various age groups and levels.

Viktor Ishchuk, as a choreographer, created two original productions for students: “Cinderella” in 2019 and “Nutcracker” in 2020.

La Prima is an exclusive place where students can share the stage with the principal dancers from the National Opera of Ukraine and other professional ballet dancers from all over Ukraine. No other ballet school in Ukraine gives this unique experience and opportunity for their students.

La Prima is hosting an exceptional group of professional teachers from the National Opera of Ukraine, National University of Culture and Arts, Kyiv Municipal Academy of Dance named by Serge Lifar, and Kyiv State Choreographic School.

In 2020, La Prima will host Balletistan intensive Summer Workshop.
